Canon RF 100-400 5.6-8 IS USM is a telephoto lens designed for advanced amateurs who care about a lens with a long focal length, but want to avoid high cost, additional weight and size, i.e. features associated with more specialized optics. If you own or plan to buy a full-frame Canon R-series camera and want to start with sports, nature, aviation or automotive photography, this is the lens for you!

LARGE CLOSE-UPS IN A RELATIVELY SMALL AND LIGHT HOUSING

The Canon RF 100-400 5.6-8 IS USM telephoto lens is much smaller and lighter than other designs with a similar focal range. However, it does not lack stabilization, which is efficient in the range of up to 6 degrees, or an effective AF Nano USM system to ensure fast and accurate tracking of objects.

OPTICAL IMAGE STABILIZATION

The optical image stabilizer helps minimize camera shake by 5,5 degrees to allow you to work in low light and with longer shutter speeds. In addition, when working with selected cameras, up to 6 degrees of stabilization can be achieved (in the case of a coordinated optical image stabilizer and image stabilizer in the body).

NANO USM SYSTEM

The Canon 100-400mm f/5.6-8 lens uses both the USM ring mechanism and the STM mechanism to ensure fast and accurate focusing, and its operation is smooth and almost silent, making the glass suitable for both photographic and video applications. This focus system also offers full, manual focus control when operating in one-shot AF mode.

VERY GOOD QUALITY OPTICS

The lens uses specialized lenses to control various aberrations and create images with high sharpness and clarity across the entire zoom range. It is also possible to work up close at a maximum magnification of 0,41x in the position of 400 mm, for photographing close-ups of small objects.

• One ultra-low dispersion element is located at the front of the optical design and helps reduce chromatic aberrations and colored borders throughout the zoom range.
• One aspherical element helps to control distortion and ensures good sharpness of details.
• Super Spectra coating minimizes glare and so-called. "spirits" and improves contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting, e.g. against the light.
• The round 9-leaf aperture provides a pleasant bokeh effect.

CONFIGURABLE CONTROL RING

The customizable control ring can be used to adjust various exposure settings, including aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation.
