This is the first SIGMA ultra-focal zoom lens from the Sports line, designed for the basics of mirrorless cameras. It meets all the expectations that are set for lenses from the Sports series, i.e. exceptional level of optical quality, high level of functionality and made of the highest quality materials. In addition, fast and precise autofocus equipped with a new magnetic sensor ensures excellent operation of the automatic focusing mechanism, also in the mode of tracking fast-moving objects.

The Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports lens offers exceptional optical quality across the entire focal range, both in the centre and at the edge of the frame, which professionals will certainly also be satisfied with. The optical design, based on the latest design technology, consists of 25 elements contained in 15 groups and includes a number of special types of lenses (FLD, SLD) that provide accurate control of various types of aberrations. This allows you to get images with very high resolution and contrast, not only on the 600mm focal length, which is the most important focal length in this type of lenses, but also in the entire focal range – without any compromises. The lens is also designed for image quality beyond the depth of field. bokeh, thanks to which we get extremely pleasant to the eye image compression.

Thanks to improvements in optical and mechanical design, as well as extensive simulation testing, the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports lens also achieves high resistance to flares and sprites, providing sharp and contrasting images when shooting against light. On the widest focal length, i.e. 150mm, the lens has an impressive minimum focusing distance of 58cm from the camera matrix, and the maximum mapping scale is 1:2.9 (for 180mm, focusing from 61cm) making it also a great tool for macro photography. For L-mount mounts, it is possible to use x1.4 and x2.0 telephoto lenses, so that the maximum focal length of the lens can be up to 1200mm.

Fast, precise AF and impressive functionality - Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports

Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 has advanced functionalities that define lenses from the SIGMA Sports line, designed for shooting objects with fast movement. With a stepper motor-controlled AF system, the lens combines fast and quiet autofocus with excellent tracking of moving objects. This is particularly impressive for an ultra-telephoto lens where focus needs to travel a considerable distance. Moreover, the new and highly precise magnetic sensor enables highly accurate positioning to ensure extremely fast and precise focusing.

The Optical Stabilization (OS) feature provides effective image stabilization that offers an advantage of approximately 4 degrees EV. It is possible to change the Optical Stabilization settings using the custom mode switch to best suit the shooting conditions. The lens features a Focus Limiter switch that offers three-zone AF modification, which helps speed up AF performance, and you can set a custom focus limit on the L-mount using the SIGMA USB DOCK. The lens also has three AFL buttons, which can be assigned different functions on the camera side depending on the model of the camera used. This ensures that key settings can be customized to suit your shooting style and have easy access to them, so you can quickly adapt to changing conditions.

Exceptional build quality optimized for ultra-telephoto lens

The Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS combines the high build quality defined by the SIGMA Sports line standards with excellent functionality, taking into account the different shooting environments and operating modes expected from an ultra-telephoto lens. The dust and splash resistant design, which prevents water droplets or dust from entering the lens, combined with the hydrophobic and oleophobic coating applied to the front element, provides peace of mind even in harsh shooting conditions.

The Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS Sports lens has Dual Action Zoom, which supports both simple zoom (so-called. push-pull) as well as ring zoom, allowing you to quickly and intuitively change the viewing angle. In addition, we also used the new Zoom Torque switch, with which you can change the resistance of the focal shift ring or lock it at the wide end, ensuring the ease of use of the zoom, as well as eliminating the lens ejection. On the lens body there is a magnesium tripod connector attached to the Arca Swiss clamp. The foot is removable and can be replaced with an optional lens foot (a type of interchangeable lens foot) or mounted on a monopod.

The lens body Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS uses parts made of aluminium and TSC (Thermally Stable Composite). TSC is a type of polycarbonate with a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to aluminum, so that the material does not change its characteristics at different temperatures. Thanks to the use of a design designed exclusively for mirrorless camera systems, the lens is both durable – an attribute necessary for the Sports lens line – and compact and lightweight. Compared to the SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Sports, which is also a Sports lens but designed for SLR cameras, the new lens is up to 760g lighter and 26,6mm shorter*.
