Tamron has been producing compact “All in one zoom” lenses with great optical parameters for years. This lens can transform from a wide-angle lens to a telephoto lens in a second without changing the optics. Ideally suited for travel and when the chances of a fantastic photo appear quickly and unexpectedly or when the photographer needs small, light and compact equipment.

Despite its excellent aperture and large focal range, this lens has exactly the same dimensions as the popular 28 to 75 mm f/2.8 Di III RXD model from Tamron and is smaller than other megazooms on the market. The dynamic focal range enables the implementation of various photographic ideas, ranging from wide-angle shots of vast landscapes to close-ups and compressed compositions made with a telephoto lens.

The new 28 to 200 mm lens not only has a long range, but also phenomenal macro parameters. With a focal length of 28 mm MOD (English) Minimum Object Distance — the minimum distance from the object) is 0,19 m, and the magnification ratio is 1:3,1. However, with a length of 200 mm MOD is 0,8 m, and the magnification factor is 1:3,8. Thanks to this lens, you can make stunning close-ups and make full use of the large aperture to achieve an excellent bokeh effect.

This model, as in the previous Tamron lenses from the line developed for Sony E-mount cameras, also uses a 67-millimeter diameter of the front lens, and thus filters. This is a practical solution, because for all models of Tamron lenses with SONY E mount, you can use the same filters, for example, a polarizing filter.

Fast, precise and quiet

The 28 to 200 mm F/2.8‐5.6 Di III RXD lens by Tamron is equipped with the popular RXD AF stepper motor, which has been specially adapted to the sharpening system technology used in mirrorless system cameras.

It is fast, precise and very quiet, which is why it is perfect for recording videos, and also allows smooth transitions. It also supports the Direct Manual Focus (DMF) function and the Eye AF function developed by Sony.

Tamron has an uncompromising approach to optical parameters.

Therefore, it uses special lens elements — including two LD lenses. Low Dispersion) and one XLD Extra Low Dispersion) to significantly reduce chromatic aberrations and allow photographers to achieve captivating quality throughout the image. The lens is weather resistant thanks to the use of rubber seals inside the structure.
