The mechanical connector allows you to terminate the single-mode fiber optic cable with a SC/APC connector without time-consuming bonding and polishing of the connectors. Sterile conditions are not required to earn quick couplers, because the fiber front has been polished and pasted in laboratory conditions (pasted fiber in the G.657A standard).
The optical gel, located in the connector, eliminates the effects of imprecise cutting or a small gap between the inserted end of the fiber and the fiber mounted inside the connector.
Quick couplers are suitable for extending or terminating optical lines.
