Difference between high-efficiency Xiaomi filter and conventional HEPA filter

Combination of two filter technologies: electrostatic charge and mechanical filtration. Xiaomi high-performance filters can remove 99,97% of airborne particles up to a minimum size of 0,1 micrometers and retain dust, PM 2.5 particles, pollen, dead skin of pets and even the smallest particles of microplastics. For fine particles up to 0,3 microns, the filtration rate of the high-efficiency filter from Xiaomi is 99,97%, and for particles as small as 0,1 microns, the filtration rate can reach 99,99%.

Conventional HEPA Filter

Reduced air purity: The HEPA filter is made of dense fiberglass that traps particles, which means less clean air gets through the filter.

High noise: A large amount of air needs to get through a dense HEPA filter, which requires more fan speed and generates more noise.

Higher energy consumption: In order to release more clean air, the HEPA filter requires the engine to run at higher speeds, resulting in greater energy consumption.
