THE EDGE edcSHARP is an ultra-light knife sharpener that, thanks to its compact size, can accompany us during our outdoor activities. With edcSHARP, you can sharpen your pocket knife, EDC folder, and outdoor knife in a quick and correct way, whether you're in the wild, fishing, or on a plot.

Recommended Sharpening Angles:

Each steel dulls over time and requires sharpening, regardless of the brand and price of the knife. Even when the knife is not in use and is in a drawer or pocket, it is recommended to periodically sharpen it. However, if the knife is used in off-road conditions or we regularly use it for everyday activities, we should especially take care of the condition of the cutting edge. What is the easiest way to ensure that the blade does not require tedious and time-consuming repair? It is enough not to allow excessive blunting of the knife, which of course requires regular and proper sharpening. For a trip to the forest, fishing or camping, we take with us only the most necessary equipment, provisions and water, usually ignoring the issue of sharpening knives. Often it is only in the field that we find out how much we lack a sharpener that would repair our knife after intensive use.

Functional design

The THE EDGE edcSHARP sharpener is designed for everyday use and carrying with you, so its design is lightweight and durable. The monolithic body of the whetstone is made of aviation aluminum by precision laser cutting. THE EDGE edcSHARP has a minimalist and modern style, with functional accessories in the form of a bottle opener, clip and hole for a rope or leash. Thanks to this functionality, THE EDGE edcSHARP can be conveniently carried in the trouser pocket, enriched with paracord cord, and, if necessary, open a bottle with our favorite drink. The comfort of work is provided by a thumb hole, which allows for a stable grip on the sharpener.

Sharpening zones

THE EDGE edcSHARP is a V-type sharpener in which abrasive surfaces are set at fixed angles of 20° and 25°. These are the sharpening angles most commonly used in EDC, outdoor and hunting knives, so with one pocket sharpener we can repair knives for different purposes. This functionality will be especially appreciated by people who do not have experience in sharpening and users who want to quickly and effectively repair the blade in off-road conditions. Triangular ceramic and tungsten tiles are used for sharpening, which can be easily disassembled for cleaning. Such a design has another advantage, after wiping or damaging the edges, we can simply turn the tile and use the new abrasive surface.

Application of sharpener

Tungsten carbide plates (coarse) quickly and aggressively collect steel. They are designed for sharpening heavily blunted knives and repairing damaged cutting edge. Depending on the hardness of the steel, 5-6 blade drags are usually enough to align and improve the cutting edge. Carbide spike collects steel quickly and aggressively, so when sharpening, do not press the knife, its weight alone is sufficient.

Ceramic tiles (fine) are used to sharpen and smooth the cutting edge. They are recommended for smoothing the blade after sharpening on a tungsten blade, quickly sharpening and keeping the sharpened knife in good condition. Fine ceramics collect steel much more gently, which is why sharpening on tiles proceeds in a slower and more controlled way.
