The UH-60 Black Hawk is a medium multirole American transport and infantry support helicopter built by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. The machine is powered by two turboshaft engines moving one rotor.
The UH-60 was a machine that was selected as the winner of a competition announced by the United States Army in the early 70s. Twentieth century as a successor to the Bell UH-1 Huey helicopter. Two machines were admitted for the final tender: the YUH-60A, designated S-70 and the Boeing-Vertol YUH-61, a rival machine that lost to the Sikorsky design.
On the basis of the UH-60, a naval version of the helicopter for the Sikorsky SH-60 Seahawk Navy was created, a total of over 4000 S-70 and H-60 family machines were produced.
