This device is called “multifunctional” for a reason.

It consists of a housing with two interchangeable sockets for different types of tools; an open socket and a closed socket, which practically gives two instruments in one.

The SVS-50 can be used for sharpening straight and rounded lathe chisels, as well as separation tools, roughing chisels and carving chisels.

SVS-50 for wood lathe chisels

The closed socket allows for precise sharpening of most lathe chisels, regardless of whether they have a rectangular or rounded blade and a straight or rounded edge.

The tool is mounted vertically in the center of the instrument, so you only need to mount it once to sharpen two sides.

After finishing sharpening one side, turn the instrument upside down, then sand the tool to a symmetrical shape.

With its unique and patented design, you can also sharpen oval-section chisels, as well as chisels with rectangular blades.

The device is straightened so that it is parallel to the universal bracket, allowing you to sharpen both straight and rounded edges.

The maximum width of the lathe chisel is 32 mm.

SVS-50 for rough gouging, separation tools and wide sculptural grooves

An open socket, in which the tool is fixed with the upper screw, is best suited for tools with an edge in the longitudinal direction.

It is also ideal for sharpening wood turning tools, roughing chisels, and wide carving chisels.

Both the open and closed socket is mounted with a bottom screw, which also locks them at the desired angle.

Sharpening of turning tools - the simplest setting

When sharpening turning tools, we strongly recommend using the SVS-50 together with the TTS-100 turning tool setting tool.

This allows for easy and accurate repetition of the shape and angle over and over again.

You will save time and extend the life of your tools, because with each sharpening you remove only the minimum amount of steel.

Water-cooled sharpening on the Tormek sharpening machine provides a very sharp edge that is also more durable.

Really sharp chisel cuts easily and gives wood a very smooth finish.

Often it does not need to be sanded later.

Change the shape of your tools with the SVS-50

Do you have a new tool for turning in wood and need to remove a lot of steel to change its profile?

Mounting kit for table grinder BGM-100 will allow you to use SVS-50 also on table grinder.

However, be careful not to overheat the edges.

After completing the pre-sharpening roughly on the table grinder, switch to the Tormek machine and give the edge the final sharpness.
