Detailed description

The AM-60BD branch chipper is designed for processing and disposing of branches, slats, plates, lamellas and other wood waste by shredding. The chipper for branches converts the raw material into pieces with a length of 6...10 cm, this size is not adjustable and depends on the diameter (thickness) of the raw material. AM-60BD can shred branches up to 60 cm in diameter, depending on the humidity and species of tree. Shredded branches are ideal fuel for pyrolysis and solid fuel boilers, fireplaces, stoves and other heating devices, as well as for the production of charcoal.

The AM-60BD branch chipper is ideal for home use. With its help, you can shred not only branches, but also the stems of vines, roses, corn, etc.

The capacity of the AM-60BD branch shredder is up to 2 m³ of finished product per hour of operation. Productivity directly depends on the quality of raw material preparation and the number of personnel involved in the work process.

Engine and overload protection

The AM-60BD branch chipper is equipped with a 7 HP petrol engine and consumes only 500 grams of fuel per hour. The engines are covered by a separate manufacturer's warranty for a period of 12 months.

The motor and shredder are protected against overload by a special friction clutch of our own development. It performs two main functions: Firstly, it ensures a smooth start of the engine, that is, after starting the engine, it first accelerates without load to 1500 revolutions per minute, and then the clutch cams smoothly enter the clutch with the housing and begin to rotate the entire shredder mechanism. This allows for a much easier start of the engine and extends its service life. Secondly, the clutch protects the engine from sudden stopping when the cutting mechanism is overloaded. For example, you threw a branch with a larger diameter than acceptable, and the shredder stopped, respectively the revolutions dropped, the clutch cams detached from the housing, and the engine simply rotates at idle, and does not suddenly stop. You need to turn off the engine, remove the branch and you can work again. This greatly increases the life of the engine and allows you not to wonder whether this branch can be thrown or not.

Cutting mechanism

The cutting mechanism consists of two plates, a drive shaft and two working shafts with knives. The cutting mechanism is equipped with its own reducer, which increases the torque 2,2 times, consists of three gears. The bearings are completely embedded in the plate body, which ensures their proper operation, simple maintenance and protects them from damage.

Gears are connected to the working shafts by means of conical quick couplers. This type of connection is a key difference between our shredders and other manufacturers who use rigid spline or groove type connections, which over time leads to non-renewable damage or costly repairs.

Tapered clutches perform several functions:

1. They allow you to perfectly position the knives in one plane.

2. They allow you to adjust the cutting mechanism and avoid cracking during operation.

3. They prevent the cutting module from being destroyed after exceeding the load.

The necks of the working shafts are ground, which ensures a tight fit of the conical clutches. Clutches carry the load necessary for operation and only scroll under emergency loads to prevent damage to equipment.

This cutting mechanism design allows you to cut even the thinnest branches, which affects the quality of the shredded material, since all the pieces will be divided among themselves. In shredders of a different design, if the knives do not clearly coincide with each other with a minimum gap, at the exit the branches may be uncut and in the form of "sausages", which further hinders the use of such raw materials.

Each part of the cutting module is produced separately on CNC machines. This allows to achieve high accuracy, quality and coaxiality of cutting parts.

Thanks to clear landings and perfectly flat planes, the module is clearly mounted. The movement works well and smoothly like a watch.

In the welded structure, there is a good chance of various distortions and deformations during welding, which leads to the loss of correct geometry and coaxiality of the cutting module. At first, such problems may not affect the work, but later, after prolonged use, it will lead to serious failures. And most importantly, in this variant, it will not be possible to fix and solve this problem, unlike the prefabricated structure, which can be completely disassembled with one key and replace each individual part.

Knife

The working element of the chipper are knives. The AM-60BD device has 4 knives installed, the knives are made of AISI 5140 steel, have a double grinding angle and necessarily undergo a heat treatment process on a modern induction heating device. Shredder knives are inserted into the milled groove of the working shaft, this technology allows you to significantly reduce the load on the screws fixing the knives.

Frame and wheels

All components of the chipper are mounted on a frame with a solid construction. The chipper is equipped with wheels, which makes it easy to move around the terrain.

The AM-60BD shredder has a direct output bunker that allows you to shred branches directly to the ground or into a low container. The design of the output bunker is very rigid and reliable, so it can withstand the impact of branches. The ejection bunker determines one clear direction of the branch outlet, and all other sides are closed, which, unlike the construction of other manufacturers, prevents the branches from entering the operator or deforming the ejection bunker itself.

Feeding of the raw material is carried out through a batch funnel with a solid construction, additionally reinforced with stiffening ribs around and at the bottom reinforced with a catheter to protect against branch impacts. A safety handle is mounted on the funnel, which is used to quickly stop the operation of the device. It also has an additional function – it allows convenient movement of the chipper around the terrain.

The length of the bunker complies with the European Union safety standards for forestry machinery. Dimensions of the input hole 93 × 99 mm.

The AM-60BD branch shredder is fully produced in our production. We control the quality of all stages of our production, all planting surfaces are subjected to mandatory grinding. Quality control of welds is carried out.

Before painting, all structures are cleaned. The branch shredder is powder coated, which significantly extends the life of the shredder structure.
