GREE - The Heart of Your Pool
Dedicated inverter compressor Gree. This is no ordinary device – it is an intelligent system that takes care of your comfort and wallet.
Why is this solution better for you?
- Liquidity, not "Jumps" (Scope 20 to 100%): The Gree compressor acts as a gas pedal in a modern car – smoothly adjusts the power to the current water temperature. Once the pool is heated, the pump slows down, using only a fraction of the energy needed to maintain the heat.
- High Lifespan: By avoiding constant starting and stopping, components wear out much slower. It is a technology for years that guarantees reliability even under intensive use in the season.
- The Gree compressor is two-rotation, thanks to which it operates quieter and reduces mechanical vibrations, making the system work more efficiently.
It must be taken into account that the pump power is given at a temperature of 27C degrees of air and 26C of water. As a rule, such an air temperature will last for a while, and most customers expect more than 26C of water temperature. Therefore, it is worth choosing a stronger pump so that it has a supply of energy so that it can go down to lower revolutions, and thus be more economical. She could have worked quieter. And do not walk all the time 100% but exploit less.
Latest 11.5 kW-C Series
When you buy from us, you get a pump from the latest distribution. What distinguishes the 11.5kWc model is that the Gree compressor design is dual rotary. This eliminates vibrations and makes the pump quieter. Additionally, the fan is inverter-driven. This makes the control more precise and energy-efficient than a standard on/off fan and compressor.
What is the real power of the 11.5kWc pump?
The pump's operating power and COP (Coefficient of Performance) depend on the temperature. At an air temperature of 27°C and a pool water temperature of 26°C, the pump has 11.5 kWc, and the COP reaches from 5.8 at 100% power to 10.2 when it operates at only 20%. This temperature is not common in Poland.
When the air temperature drops, the pump's power decreases. At an air temperature of 15°C, the maximum power is 8.5 kW, and the COP reaches a value from 4.3 to 6.2.
When the air temperature drops to 10°C, the pump reaches a maximum power of 7.5 kW, and its COP drops from 3.8 to 5. At this temperature, don't be surprised if the difference between the inlet and outlet is about 1°C. Therefore, using it at lower temperatures is not cost-effective.
Therefore, if you want to extend the swimming season, it's worth choosing a more powerful pump:
- It will work more quietly because it will have a power reserve to run at lower speeds.
- At lower speeds, it will wear out less because it won't be running at 100% power all the time, which will extend its lifespan.
- When the pump is not running at 100% but at lower speeds, the COP will increase because it will be working at lower speeds, so the energy bill will be lower. And at lower air temperatures in the evening, its power won't be as weak, and we'll have a pleasant temperature in the morning. Considering that the price difference is small, it's worth investing in a larger pump so you don't have to wait long for the pool to heat up and don't have to worry about whether the summer will be cold this year.
Installation and ongoing operation also without stress
Installation of PCWBi heat pumps is a relatively easy and quick operation. The internal system is completely hermetic and does not require interference with installation work. They are run outside the building, usually by the pool itself. The controller itself does not need complicated configuration. To connect the pool water circuit, it will be best to use a bypass. It consists of piping and 3 valves to cut off the flow of water through the heat pump, as well as its regulation. The device can also be quickly disassembled and stored for the winter in a closed room.
Connection of pool hoses
The kit makes it easy to connect hoses if you have a pool for 32mm or 38mm clamps (white reductions in the photo) Just between the filter pump and the pool overload the pool hose and insert the heat pump in this place. The closer we put the heat pump, the lower the temperature losses on the hoses. We can also mount on bypass hose on nuts, the so-called nipples that can be seen applied to the bypass on the right side, this is a very common solution and at the same time the simplest if we want to keep nuts. Although, when we cut a 32mm or 38 hose, we can buy fittings so that we can reconnect the average hose.
FUNCTIONAL CONTROLLER WITH BLUETOOTH
Functional, easy-to-use controller with touch screen, heating/cooling temperature setting and operating times. With the mWiFi module, it is possible to control and preview work using a mobile application. The pumps we have come from the latest delivery, they have a built-in Bluetooth module
CONTROL OF THE FILTER PUMP
The heat pump controller also allows you to program two time intervals, operating regardless of the settings of the heat pump, in which it is possible to filter the pool.
Comfort among the sounds of nature
The biggest advantage of the Gree inverter is the work culture. At lower loads, the compressor operates almost silently. Thanks to this, relaxation in the pool or rest on the terrace takes place in absolute peace, without the cumbersome hum known from older devices.
Pool heat pumps PCWBi-C thanks to the use of an inverter compressor, work with previously unattainable minimum volume level. The level of 38 dB(A) at a distance of 1 meter, achieved with the smoothly reduced efficiency of the heat pump means that when relaxing in the garden, we will primarily hear louder birdsong. So for the highest demands, when the house is in an extremely quiet area, the choice of the PCWBi-C heat pump will have additional justification.
- Sound pressure level (1m): is 38 ~ 48 dB(A).
- Acoustic power level: is 51,8 ~ 61,8 dB(A).
For comparison (view scale):
- 31 dB(A): Very quiet street without traffic, whisper up close.
- 51 dB(A): Office noise, normal conversation, moderate rain.
- For comparison (view scale):
With the mWiFi module, it is possible to control and preview work using the Aqua Temp smartphone application is a remote control over the pool installation.
The mWiFi PCWB module allows you to perform functions such as m.in.:
- turning the heat pump on and off
- setting of heat pump operating times
- choice of heat pump operating mode: heating/cooling/automatically
- setting the required water temperature in the pool
- Monthly statistics of changes in water temperature in the pool
- Current weather and weather forecast for 3 days
- setting the pump operating time
- notification of critical errors in the operation of the device
- temperature chart of the last 7 days
We offer the latest pumps that have been equipped with a Bluetooth module!
TITANIUM STEEL HEAT EXCHANGER
The special design of the heat exchanger and condenser, made of titanium steel, ensures resistance to pool water.
The design of the titanium heat exchanger significantly increases efficiency and provides sufficient heating power; the heat exchanger is made of high-quality titanium steel and PVC material, resistant to the chemistry used for water treatment in swimming pools
The shell-tube exchanger is also a heat pump condenser, which ensures high heat transfer efficiency. Pool water is located in the mantle part with low flow resistance, and the refrigerant flows through a coil with a developed heat dissipation surface. The coil is reinforced with handles for protection against vibrations and turbulence of flowing pool water. The resistance of the exchanger to the chemical impact of pool water is ensured by the materials used in the construction of the exchanger - titanium steel and PVC material.
PROTECTION OF THE HEAT PUMP AGAINST FREEZING
The people on the evaporator cause disruption and decrease air flow, which in turn results in less free heat consumption and more compressor operation. Defrosting depends on the indications of the temperature sensor placed on the evaporator.
- AUTOMATIC DEFROSTING
- EVAPORATOR DEFROSTING MODE
- FUNCTION OF PROTECTING THE HEAT PUMP FROM FREEZING
The pump has a water cooling function in the pool if necessary.
First degree of antifreeze protection:
The protection will be activated when the water outlet temperature from the heat pump reaches between 2 and 4°C and the ambient temperature will be lower than 0°C. The E19 code will be displayed on the screen. At this point, a filter pump will be started, which will work until the water temperature reaches a minimum of 8°C or until the ambient temperature rises above 1°C. The device will then return to standby mode.
Second degree of antifreeze protection:
The protection will be activated when the water outlet temperature from the heat pump is lower than 2 °C and the ambient temperature is lower than 0°C. The E29 code will be displayed on the screen. At this point, the heat pump will be started in heating mode. The device in heating mode will work until it reaches a water temperature of at least 15°C or until the ambient temperature rises above 1°C. The device will then return to standby mode.
What is COP?
COP (Coefficient of Performance) is a performance factor that determines the relationship between free energy given into the pool and paid electricity taken from the grid.
- Principle of operation: If the pump has COP = 5, then with 1 kWh of current generates 5 kWh of heat.
- Main advantage: The higher the ratio, the lower the water heating bills.
- Variability: COP is not constant – it increases when it is warmer outside, and when the pump (inverter) is running at lower speeds.
Performance of the 11,5 kW-C:
According to the technical parameters, this model is characterized by extremely high efficiency:
- Maximum COP: 10,4 – occurs under ideal conditions (air 27∘C) when the pump after heating the pool goes into the mode of maintaining the temperature at the lowest speed (approx. 20% power). Then over 90% of energy is completely free.
- COP in Polish conditions (A15°C/W26°C): On a typical Polish summer day, at an air temperature of 15∘C, the COP for this model ranges from 4,3 to 6,2. This means that even with a cooler aura, you still gain 4 to 6 times more energy than you consume.
Why is COP changing?
It is worth remembering that COP is not a constant value. It depends on two factors:
- Ambient temperature: The warmer the air, the easier it is for the pump to "pull" heat out of it.
- Inverter operation: The Hewalex pumps of the PCWBi series are inverter devices. They achieve the highest efficiency not when they work "on full gas", but when they calmly maintain the set temperature.
Note
- Manufacturers always give the pump power at an air temperature of 27C (sometimes different), and this does not happen often. So its power is not really what they color.
- Cop is often a marketing ploy, because it is given at 27C air temperature, and additionally, when the pump already heats the pool and only maintains the water temperature 26C at 27C air temperature
The choice of PCWBi pump is the absence of hidden operating costs:
- No paid inspections: The current generation of Hewalex pumps does not require mandatory, paid service inspections, which distinguishes it from many competitive solutions.
- Ecological refrigerant R32: The use of modern refrigerant R32 (0,46 kg) provides higher energy efficiency with less environmental impact (GWP only 675).
Special Solutions in the PCWBi Heat Pump Construction
The PCWB heat pump is specifically adapted to work for heating pool water. It uses modern, quiet rotary compressors. The shell-and-tube heat exchanger built into the heat pump has a special design, where the refrigerant transfers heat directly to the flowing pool water. Protection of the heat pump against a possible loss of water flow is provided by a built-in SIKA flow sensor.
Controller resistant to external conditions
It is built on a heat pump. The settings include m.in.:
- operating mode selection: AUTOMATIC / HEATING / COOLING
- working time intervals, e.g. for 2-zone energy purchase tariffs
- setting the required pool water temperature
- alarm states, e.g. lack of water flow
CONTROL OF THE FILTER PUMP
The heat pump controller also allows you to program two time intervals, operating regardless of the settings of the heat pump, in which it is possible to filter the pool. To activate the function, set the value of parameter P05 to 1, see. Chapter 9.1 in the instructions at the bottom of the listing.
Then set the on (P06) and off (P07) time of the first pool filtration time program. The same should be done for the second time program (P08 and P09). Operation of the filter pump in the above time intervals will be in accordance with the setting of the parameter P01
Installation diagram with heat pump type PCWBi
In most cases, the use of a PCWBi heat pump requires minimal interference in the pool water circuit. The materials used and the design of the heat exchanger (condenser) allows direct flow of water through the heat pump. Low condenser flow resistance in most cases allows you to use the existing circulation pump. The heat pump is incorporated into the pool water circuit behind the filtration devices and in front of the chemical dispenser.

Temperature Regulation: The maximum outlet water temperature is typically less than 40°C. The fact that you can set 40°C on the display does not necessarily mean it will be reached, as it depends on the insulation and capacity of the pool. The high pool volume stated by the manufacturer applies to low water heating temperatures, only in warm weather. In other words, for 50m3 of water, 13kW is not recommended; a minimum of 17.5 kW-B is needed. Customers buy 13.2kWc for pools of 20m3 and smaller. This is because frame pools are cooled by wind and low evening temperatures and do not have thermal insulation like indoor pools. The use of a solar cover is required.
- Operating at the highest speeds shortens the life of the compressor and causes more noise. By oversizing the pump, the compressor runs quieter and at lower speeds, consuming less electricity. So, if you're wondering whether to oversize the pump, the answer is yes, it's worth it. For example, in winter, for covered pools or indoors, it is recommended to oversize the pump by 3x, and even then, the pool is additionally supported by a heater or heat exchanger.
What to Consider
Heat pumps from the manufacturer are not factory-equipped with a power cord; you need to purchase a 3×2.5 mm2 cord separately.
CHOOSING THE INSTALLATION LOCATION to ensure the heat pump operates with the highest efficiency and declared heating power
Do not install the unit in places with limited air access, where exhaust air recirculation would occur.
Do not install near plants that could block airflow. Cold air can harm plants.
The location must continuously ensure free access to fresh and clean air and the flow of pool water. A pump in a closed room will frost up and turn it into a cold room.
Do not place the pump where there is a draft, as it will not effectively collect heat from the air.
