Stages of cleaning:

1. Preparation of clean water – clean water is poured into one of the tanks, often with the addition of a special washing agent.

2. Spraying of the surface – during operation, the pressurized device distributes a solution of water and detergent to the cleaned surface (e.g. carpet, upholstery).

3. Dissolving dirt – water with detergent penetrates the fabric or carpet, dissolving and peeling off dirt.

4. Vacuuming and sucking dirty water – the vacuum cleaner sucks water along with dirt that goes into a second, separate tank for dirty water.

5. Final effect – the surface remains clean and only slightly moist, because most of the water is sucked away.
