The SFMCD721 is a more powerful variant in the Stanley FatMax V20 family of cordless impact drills. It is driven by a brushless motor, torque reaches 80 Nm, and the second gear allows you to work at speeds up to 2100 rpm. /min. When to choose this model?

The difference from the simpler V20 drill-drivers with a brush motor and 50 Nm torque comes down to three things: a greater supply of torque with large screws and harder material, higher rotations on the second gear when drilling and a brushless design that better withstands everyday, intensive work.

The metal handle is an element that is of real importance in this class of tools – when replacing drills frequently and working with larger diameters, it is more resistant to wear than a plastic handle. However, you have to reckon with the fact that the SFMCD721 weighs 1,53 kg without a battery, so for long screwing overhead, the lighter model can be more convenient.

It is also worth remembering that a hammer in a drill-driver is formed on an impact clutch, not in a pneumatic mechanism. For holes in higher density concrete or under anchors, the SDS-Plus hammer drill is the right tool. In turn, for the very quick screwing of long screws and working with caps, it is better to choose a screw driver – this is another category of tool, without a drill chuck.

Scope of the set and selection of accessories

There is no battery or charger in it, so it makes sense for a user who already works on cells from the 18 V Stanley FatMax V20 system and wants to add a stronger drill-driver to their set. If you start from scratch, you need to select the Stanley V20 battery and charger separately.

At 80 Nm and a handle up to 13 mm, it makes sense to reach for a higher capacity battery – a smaller cell is enough for installation, but with longer drilling in large diameter wood, it will discharge faster. Working equipment — drills and bits — is selected separately, under the material and diameter of the hole.
