HiLook by Hikvision monitoring systems can be controlled, configured and operated using the intuitive Hik-Connect mobile application for smartphones and tablets and the iVMS-4200 program for PCs. Thanks to this, the user has control and supervision over the monitored space from anywhere on earth with access to the network. The application and program allow you to:

1. Is the UTP cable alone enough to power and route the signal from the cameras to the recorder?

Yes, UTP cable has 4 pairs of twisted wires - some of them should be used for power supply, part for signal transmission.

2. What is the maximum cable distance between the recorder and the camera?

With local power supply of the camera, the signal can be guided up to 100m. When running power centrally from the LZ1/POL distributor, we recommend shorter sections.

3. How to connect the DVR to the Internet?

The recorder must be connected wired to a router that has access to the Internet.

4. Does the kit allow you to view the image from the cameras on your phone?

Yes, a dedicated Hik-Connect application is used for this. First of all, you need to connect the set to the Internet and properly configure it.

5. How to install the disk in the DVR?

Remove the top cover of the recorder by unscrewing the mounting screws, and then connect the disk with two wires (SATA + power supply). After installation, initialize the drive from the DVR menu.

6. How to get an image from the DVR?

The recorder can be connected to a TV or monitor via VGA or HDMI. After connecting it to the Internet, you can also access the menu and preview from the cameras on your computer (iVMS-4200).

7. How to access the DVR from the computer/laptop level?

The recorder must be connected to the Internet on the same network as the computer. After connecting, you can log in to the DVR from your web browser (recommended Internet Explorer) using its IP address.

8. How many days is the disk from the set enough?

The number of days of recordings depends on several individual factors, such as resolution, frame rate/second, recording schedule. The number of days varies from 7 to even 45 depending on these parameters. When the drive is full, the recorder will automatically delete the oldest recording and record the latest material.

9. Can the cameras in the kit be mounted outside?

Yes, the cameras have a sealed housing with IP66 rating and can be mounted outdoors.

10. What happens in the event of a power outage?

The recorder and cameras will turn off - when the power returns, the system will automatically resume its operation.
