Precision saw blade

Silky Bigboy saws are created on the basis of centuries-old tradition of manufacturing reliable cutting tools and modern technology. This combination makes Silky tools combine high strength, sharpness and high cutting efficiency.

The Silky Bigboy 360-13 has a 360 mm long brush with fine teething (13 teeth per 30 mm blade length), which provides the perfect balance between fast cutting and a clean finish. Ideally suited for precise cutting of structural wood, hardwood, e.g. bamboo and plastics.

Silky saw equipped with a precision-made blade

The blade is made of high-carbon steel and its shape is precisely cut with a laser. The surface of the saw blade is chrome-plated, which prevents rusting and protects against harmful external factors. The main advantages of the Bigboy saw are the saw blade teeth ground in four planes and a long handle made of aluminum. To prevent teeth from breaking out, they were partially hardened. Teeth have only hardened edges, the rest of them remain soft and flexible. Precise hourglass-shaped grinding prevents the saw from locking during cutting.

Functionality

The elongated handle of the Bigboy 360-13 increases the comfort of work and reduces the effort that must be brought when sawing. The rubberized material of the handle prevents the saw from slipping out of the hand, which positively affects our safety. The saw is folded in such a way that sharp teeth are hidden in the handle. This allows you to safely carry the tool in a backpack or tool bag. Thanks to the lock, the saw blade can be locked in two cutting positions.

Technologies

Electropulse hardening

The tips of the teeth are heated to a very high temperature for a fraction of a second. Since only the tip (or cutting part) of the tooth is heated, the rest of the tooth retains its cutting quality, but also flexibility. Inductively hardened teeth have three times the lifespan of untreated teeth. They cannot be sharpened and can be recognized by the black tips of the teeth.

Not spacing teeth

The teeth are precision-ground in the blade, each with 4 cutting surfaces. The teeth are “unopened”, thanks to which the cutting surface is cut straight into the wood, destroying about 50% less wood cells. The blades are ground biconcave: the lower part of the blade (at the teeth) is the thickest, the upper part is slightly thinner, and the blade is the thinnest inside. This design has several advantages: Less power needed for sawing, drains sawdust effortlessly (will not get stuck in wood), very clean saw cutting - without breaking or plucking wood creates a very accurate, smooth saw cutting.

Rubber handle GOM

The GOM rubber grip absorbs vibrations when sawing and provides an excellent grip, even in wet conditions or with gloves. Moreover, this handle always provides pleasant warmth, even in extremely low temperatures.

The high carbon content leads to high wear resistance, so that the sharpness remains for a very long time. Soft and flexible - By forging saws in this way, the core of the saw tooth consists of soft metal, thanks to which the saw remains flexible and easily grips the wood.

Chrome finish

The chrome plating of the saw blade makes the surface of the saw blade extremely hard and durable, while reducing friction and increasing the life of the saw blade. In addition, chrome plating protects the blade from rust and resin. Before applying chrome plating, Silky polishes the blade to a silk-smooth finish. This means that when sawing, the blade encounters even less resistance in the wood.

Teeth Mirai-Me

Razor-sharp teeth are precision ground in the blade, each with 3 cutting edges and, as a result, an extremely smooth surface. For optimal drainage of sawdust every so many teeth (depending on the saw model) is ground outside. This unbeatable, patented MIRAI-ME technology allows the use of a saw for up to 3 types of cutting: transverse (perpendicular to the jars), longitudinal (parallel to the direction of the jars) and diagonal. During pruning work, a smooth cut with a saw will allow for easy overgrowth of the tree wound. In carpentry, smooth saw cutting provides an excellent finish, so sanding is not necessary.
