SONOFF AirGuard TH Pressure SNZB-02M is a Zigbee 3.0 wireless sensor that monitors three basic environmental parameters:

  • temperature,
  • relative humidity,
  • atmospheric pressure.

Based on the collected data, the device can also calculate the dew point and VPD, i.e. the water vapour pressure deficit. Thanks to this, SNZB-02M will work not only as a classic thermometer and hygrometer, but also as an advanced microclimate sensor.

⭐Measurement of temperature and humidity

The sensor allows you to accurately monitor the conditions in the room. It can be used to control the comfort of household members, protect equipment and automate heating, ventilation and humidification.

The dew point helps determine the temperature at which water vapor will begin to condense. Monitoring this parameter can help detect risks:

  • condensation of water vapour,
  • dampness of the walls,
  • development of mold,
  • fogging of windows,
  • unfavorable conditions in the basement or garage.

⭐VPD

VPD, or Vapor Pressure Deficit, determines the level of moisture saturation of air. The parameter can be useful for:

  • cultivation of plants,
  • care of potted plants,
  • control of conditions in the greenhouse,
  • monitoring of the terrarium,
  • analysis of the microclimate of rooms.

Dew point and VPD are values calculated on the basis of measured parameters, not separate measurements made by independent sensors.

⭐ ZigBee protocol

What distinguishes ZigBee from classic WiFi is a sufficiently long working time of battery-powered devices (unattainable with the classic WiFi protocol) and signal transmission through accessories powered by 230V.

In addition, selected ZigBee devices (230V mains powered) become part of the Mesh network. This means that if a module is unable to connect directly to the ZigBee gateway, it communicates with it through another closest accessory of this system. The repater in the ZigBee ecosystem are devices powered by 230V, such as PSMART, Aqara, OXT Zigbee relay, Sonoff ZigBee, TUYA, 230V sockets or bulbs.
