The Sone Smart One Wi-Fi gate controller is an intelligent module that allows to remotely open and close the garage or entrance gate using a mobile application and voice control. The device connects directly to your home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and works in the Tuya / Smart Life app – without an additional gateway.

The controller supports voice control via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing you to issue simple commands "open" / "close". For Google Assistant, it is required to set a 4-digit security password, which prevents the gate from accidentally opening.

The device acts as an intelligent button. If your gateway has a input to the (voltage-free) button, the driver will be compatible with it. Power supply is provided directly from the AC 100 – 240 V (L and N) network.

After connecting the reed, it is possible to check the actual status of the gate in the application (open / closed), view the history of events, set timers, schedules and create intelligent scenes, e.g. automatic switching on the light after opening the garage (additional relay required).

The controller has compact dimensions, so it fits easily into the gate drive housing, installation box or switchgear.

Contactor should be mounted on the wing and gate frame – without its connection, the status of the gate in the application will always be visible as “open”.

Connection diagram

The controller can only be connected to gates that have a potential-free input to the button. If the drive does not have such an input, the driver will not be compatible.

S1/S2 terminals (signal cable) are connected to the button input in the gate control panel. L/N terminals are used to power the AC 100 – 240 V controller.The S3/S4 terminals are designed to connect the contacttron, which is responsible for the correct display of the gate status in the application.

Without a reed connected, the gateway in the app will always be visible as open. The reed logic cannot be reversed – when the reed sensors touch, the gate is closed, and when they are separated, the gate is open.

Visualizing the status of the gateway in the application

In the Tuya / Smart Life application, the gate status is presented in a clear, graphical form. On the home screen you can see the gateway animation, which changes depending on its location.

The application distinguishes three states: open gate, gate during closing/opening and closed gate. Thanks to this, you immediately know what is currently happening with the gate – without guessing and without having to physically check it.

Correct display of status requires connected reed. Without it, the application does not receive feedback and the gateway will always be visible as open, regardless of the actual location.

Schedule, timer and event history

It is possible to automatically control the gate at certain times. The schedule allows you to set the opening or closing also with repetition on selected days (e.g. only on working days).

There is also a countdown function (timer), which will perform the action after the set time – e.g. automatic closing of the gate after 10 minutes.

The event history is also recorded, in which all openings and closures are visible along with the exact date and time. This makes it easy to see when the gate has been used.

It is a set of functions that really increase control, convenience and security of using the gate.

Smart Scenes – Automation with Other Devices

The controller can be combined with other smart home devices as part of smart scenes. This allows one action to trigger further actions at home.

Scenes operate on the principle of condition - action. For example: when you arrive home, the gate can open automatically, and at the same time the light in the garage or driveway will turn on (additional relay or smart lighting required).

You can create scenes based on schedule, location, device status, or manual triggering with one click.

Thanks to this, the controller ceases to be only a “gateway remote control” and becomes an element of a full smart home system.

Security features – Timeout alarm and Run Time

Timeout alarm allows you to set the time after which the app will send a notification if the gate remains open for too long. The range can be set from 1 minute to 24 hours. This is a very practical solution when you want to make sure that the gate has not been accidentally opened at night or during your absence.

Run Time specifies the maximum operating time of the controller with one opening or closing cycle. It can be set from 10 to 120 seconds. This function protects the system against too long signal feeding and allows you to adjust the operation to a specific gate drive.

Both functions are available in the device settings and do not require additional hardware configuration. Thanks to them, the controller is not only convenient, but also safe for everyday use.

Adding a device is very simple – just hold down the button on the driver and search for it in the application. The whole process takes several dozen seconds and does not require any additional gate.

Thanks to this, you can gradually expand your smart home without closing yourself to one brand.

The application is available in Polish, runs on Android and iOS, is free and regularly updated with new features.
