About the characteristics of the HSB pump model:

The pump is equipped with smooth performance adjustment. On the housing there is a simple valve for adjustment along with "ribbing" protecting the pump from large contaminants.

Actually, you have to! The water pump operates in full immersion in water. It's waterproof. Its water resistance is determined at IPX8.
