The Sone Smart One liquid level sensor allows you to constantly monitor the amount of water or other non-aggressive liquid in the tank. The measurement is carried out without contact using ultrasonic technology, in the range from 0.1 to 5 m.
The device connects directly to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, so no additional gateway is required for its operation. The sensor requires constant mains power using the power supply included in the kit.
Once you add the device to the Tuya / Smart Life app, you can remotely check the liquid level, view measurement history, and set minimum and maximum level alarms.
The sensor also has a built-in audible alarm , the operating time of which can be set from 1 to 60 minutes. This allows it to warn of too low or too high liquid levels both locally and via the app.

Dimensions
The sensor measures 80 × 80 × 41 mm. Installation requires a hole with a diameter of about 55 mm at the top of the tank. The sensor shall be mounted above the surface of the liquid so that its measuring part is directed vertically downwards and does not come into contact with water.
The cable coming out of the sensor has a length of about 180 cm, while the power supply cable is about 90 cm. The connection of the sensor cable with the power supply is not waterproof, so it should be in a dry place, protected from moisture and precipitation.
Assembly
Before making the mounting hole, we recommend connecting the sensor to the power supply and adding it to the Tuya Smart app near the router. Then move the device to the planned installation location and check whether the connection to the WiFi 2.4 GHz network is stable. Only after confirming the appropriate WiFi coverage, we recommend starting installation in the tank.
The sensor is mounted from the top of the tank. For its installation, a mounting hole with a diameter of about 55 mm should be made.
Installation of the device:
- make a hole in the upper part of the tank,
- place the mounting pad,
- embed the sensor in the prepared hole,
- screw the sensor to the surface of the tank,
- connect the sensor cable to the power supply cable,
- Connect the power supply to the mains socket.
The cable coming out of the sensor has a length of about 180 cm, while the power supply cable about 90 cm, which makes it easier to bring power to the installation site. The connection of the sensor cable with the power supply is not waterproof and should be placed in a dry place, protected against water, moisture and precipitation.
Important information during installation
The sensor must be mounted perpendicular to the surface of the liquid, so that the measurements are correct.
The best place to install is the central part of the tank, away from inlets, liquid drains and other elements that may cause measurement interference, the so-called. pseudo-echo.
Do not mount the sensor too close to tank walls, pipes, floats or other obstacles. Elements in the measuring field can reflect ultrasonic waves and cause erroneous or unstable readings.
The inside of the tank should be as smooth as possible and devoid of protruding structural elements in the measuring area.
The beam measurement angle is approximately ±15°. There should be no obstacles in this area, along the entire road between the sensor and the surface of the liquid.
Minimum recommended tank dimensions:
- at a height of H = 5 m – diameter or width D > 2,7 m
- at height H = 4 m – diameter or width D > 2 m
- at height H = 3 m – diameter or width D > 1,6 m
- at a height of H = 2 m – diameter or width D > 1,1 m
In the case of mounting on a slightly curved surface, the sensor should be screwed stably, but without excessive tensioning of its housing. If unusual or unstable readings appear after installation, it is worth slightly loosening the mounting screws and checking the indications again.
Tuya App Main Screen
On the app's main screen, you can quickly check the **current liquid level in percentage and meters**, its status, and a graph of previous measurements. The clear tank graphic makes it easy to assess the fill level.
When the set minimum or maximum is exceeded, the app displays information about **too low or too high liquid levels**, and the sensor activates an audible alarm. Its duration can be set from **1 to 60 minutes.**
However, you don't have to let the alarm run for the full set time – you can **quickly silence it with a single button directly on the app's main screen.**
Measurement and Alarm History
The app saves the **history of liquid levels and alarms**, allowing you to easily check past events and analyze changes in the tank.
Available features include:
- Liquid level graphs broken down by **day, month, and year**,
- History of minimum and maximum liquid level alarms,
- Exact date and time for each recorded event,
- Quick view of recent notifications directly on the app's main screen.
The measurement history makes it easier to observe liquid level changes over longer periods, monitor consumption, and detect unusual drops or increases that could indicate, for example, a leak, excessive use, or a tank filling problem.
Sensor Settings in the App
In the **Tuya Smart app settings**, you can customize how the sensor and alarms operate based on your tank's height and fill level.
Available settings:
- **Set Max** – the maximum liquid level in percentage, which can trigger an alarm when exceeded.
- **Set Mini** – the minimum liquid level in percentage, below which an alarm can be triggered.
- **Alarm Time** – the duration of the audible alarm, adjustable from **1 to 60 minutes.**
- **Upper Switch** – enables or disables the maximum liquid level alarm.
- **Lower Switch** – enables or disables the minimum liquid level alarm.
- **Installation Height** – the distance from the sensor's measurement surface to the bottom of the tank.
- **Liquid Maximum Depth** – the maximum liquid depth, meaning the height of the liquid column when the tank is at maximum capacity.
Correctly setting the **Installation Height** and **Liquid Maximum Depth** parameters is essential for the app to accurately calculate and display the liquid level in percentages and meters.
Adding the Device to the App
The sensor connects **directly to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network**, so it does not require an additional gateway. Before installation, we recommend adding the device to the **Tuya Smart app near your router**, and then checking the Wi-Fi signal strength at the planned installation location.
To add the sensor to the app:
- Connect the sensor to power.
- Open the Tuya / Smart Life app.
- Turn on **Bluetooth** on your phone and connect to a **2.4 GHz WiFi network.**
- Locate the pairing mode button on the **bottom of the device.**
- Gently press and hold the button for about **5–7 seconds** until the indicator light starts flashing.
- In the app, select the option to add a new device.
- Select the detected sensor and follow the on-screen instructions.
The sensor does not support direct connection to a **5 GHz WiFi network**. If your router broadcasts both bands, the device must have access to the **2.4 GHz network** during configuration.
Creating Smart Scenes
The sensor can act as a trigger for smart scenes in the Tuya Smart app. Automation can be started after changing the liquid level state, e.g. After reaching the set minimum or maximum.
Examples of applications:
- switching on the pump after detecting too low liquid level,
- switching off the pump after reaching the maximum level,
- actuation of a smart socket, relay, valve or other actuator,
- Activation of an additional siren or warning light.
To create a scene, in the app, select When device status changes, indicate the sensor and condition, e.g. Upper level alarm, and then select the action to perform the compatible device.
The sensor does not have a built-in relay and does not control the pump directly. Automatic filling or emptying of the tank requires an additional actuator added to the same application Tuya Smart, eg. intelligent relay or outlet selected for pump parameters.
