Phototherapy:

UV phototherapy comes from the 20s of the twenty-first century. With the development of science and technology, artificial light source technology has developed rapidly. PUVA, UVB methods have become the most effective way to treat various types of skin diseases in European and American countries.

Phototherapy (or phototherapy) can be used by people who, in normal contact with the sun, experience a deterioration of psoriasis, i.e. after contact with the sun, their changes heal. This is due to the fact that in the case of dermatological exposures, UV rays are selected. UVB radiation is much safer than UVA. Therefore, they can be successfully used in pregnant women, children or people with severely ill liver or cataracts. Phototherapy for psoriasis involves regular exposure of diseased surfaces to ultraviolet radiation. UVB radiation is absorbed primarily by the epidermis itself, thanks to which it is possible to eliminate psoriatic symptoms. Phototherapy can be used both on larger areas of the body and on specified areas (e.g. skin of hands, head, face). The procedure is usually well tolerated by patients and safe. 85% of patients with psoriasis respond to UVB and they constitute the largest group undergoing phototherapy. UVB therapy should be consulted with a dermatologist.

For long-term treatments of diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis or vitiligo, the quality of medical equipment is essential. You always have to choose the right size lamp for your individual changes.

It is particularly important for the patient to develop a habit of discipline in order to undergo therapy without interruptions. Under optimal conditions, great healing results can be obtained.
