Phototherapy:
Phototherapy (or phototherapy) can be used by people who, in normal contact with the sun, experience a deterioration of psoriasis. This is due to the fact that in the case of dermatological exposures, UV rays are selected. UVB radiation is much safer than UVA. Therefore, they can be successfully used in pregnant women, children or people with severely ill liver or cataracts. Phototherapy for psoriasis involves regular exposure of diseased surfaces to ultraviolet radiation. UVB radiation is absorbed primarily by the epidermis itself; thanks to this, it is possible to eliminate psoriatic symptoms. Phototherapy can be used both on larger areas of the body and on specified areas (e.g. skin of hands, head, face). The procedure is usually well tolerated by patients and safe. 85% of patients with psoriasis respond to UVB and they constitute the largest group undergoing phototherapy. UVB therapy should be consulted with a dermatologist.
