1 x Philips PL-S 36W / 01 / 4P UVB 311nm UVB tube for use in medical devices.

Philips offers highly reliable PL-L lamps with a narrow wavelength range from 305 to 315 nm that peak at 311 nm. Thanks to this, the lamps are suitable, m.in for phototherapy.

Applications :

• UVB radiation is an effective remedy, m.in. on:

• Psoriasis, vitiligo,
• Atopic dermatitis
• Seborrheic dermatitis,
• Seborrheic and persistent guttate psoriasis
• Other types of eczema, including hand eczema
• Multiform light rashes (preventively to harden the skin),

• Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma - Mycosis fungoides (early stage),

• Hepatic itching
• Eczema
• Urea renal pruritus
• Other rare conditions.

Phototherapy:

Phototherapy (or phototherapy) can be used by people who experience worsening of psoriasis in normal contact with the sun. This is due to the fact that in the case of dermatological exposure, the UV rays are selected. Exposure to UVB rays is much safer than UVA. Therefore, they can be successfully used in pregnant women, children or people with seriously ill liver or cataracts. In relation to psoriasis, phototherapy is the regular exposure of diseased surfaces to ultraviolet radiation. UVB radiation is absorbed mainly by the epidermis itself; thanks to this, it is possible to eliminate psoriatic symptoms. Phototherapy can be used both on larger areas of the body and on specific places (eg. skin of the hands, head, face). The treatment is usually well tolerated by patients and safe. 85% of psoriasis patients respond to UVB and are the largest group undergoing phototherapy. UVB therapy should be consulted with a dermatologist.
