Fetal heart rate (FHR) is extremely important and provides a basis for checking whether the fetus is healthy.
Registering changes in FHR helps detect signs of fetal hypoxia. Fetal monitoring at home mainly involves listening to the fetal heartbeat and checking for FHR changes that help significantly increase fetal safety. Reference fetal heart rate range: 110bpm-160bpm
✅ The fetus moves in the abdomen of a pregnant woman and therefore the position of detection of the fetal heartbeat may change.
Depending on the stage of pregnancy, the heart rate is felt in different places on the abdomen. Patiently and calmly determine the position of the baby in the stomach.
- Early stage - before 24. A week of pregnancy, the fetal heartbeat can be detected in the middle of the abdomen or in its area below the navel.
- Middle vase after 26. The week of pregnancy, the fetal heartbeat can apparently be detected at the site where the fetal back is located. Fetal movement is usually the movement of the fetal limbs. When fetal movement is often felt on the right side of the abdomen, the fetal heartbeat can usually be detected on the left side of the abdomen and vice versa.
- Final phase - the position of the head and the position of the buttocks can also affect the detection of the fetal heartbeat. If the fetus is in the head position, the fetal heartbeat can be detected on the left or right under the navel. If the fetus is in the gluteal position, the fetal heartbeat can be detected on the left or right side above the navel.
