💧 What does a flow water filter do in practice?

The water iron remover is mounted at the entrance of the installation (usually in the boiler room or technical room), so that the water is filtered before it reaches all taps and devices.

❓ FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Is WODARO HBB10 suitable as a whole house filter?

Yes. It’s a flow filter mounted on the installation input (usually behind a water meter), so it filters water for the whole house – as long as the installation is plugged in one place.

2) Does this set soften water (remove stone)?

No. It is a triple water filter: 1 mechanical stage + 1 carbon stage and 1 iron and manganese reducing stage. Improves water quality (sediment, taste, smell), but is not a softener. If you need a hardness reduction, you need a separate softener.

3) What removes 20 µm foam cartridge?

Stops mechanical contamination: sand, rust, silt and slurry. This is the first degree of protection for installations and carbon cartridges.

4) What does a carbon filter (active carbon) give?

The activated carbon filter improves the taste and smell of water and helps reduce chlorine and some of the organic compounds responsible for the “tap” aftertaste.

5) How often should I replace cartridges?

It depends on water quality and consumption. Most often, the mechanical cartridge is replaced more often (on average every 2-4 months) (because it collects dirt), and carbon less often (on average every 3-6). The signal for replacement is a drop in pressure/flow or a deterioration in taste and smell.

6) Can I change the configuration of the cartridges in the future?

Yes. The BIG BLUE standard is popular, so you can choose other cartridges that match your enclosures if your needs change.

7) Is there a key to unscrew the enclosures?

Yes, the key is included. In addition, you get centering discs to facilitate the correct installation of cartridges.

8) Is it suitable for well water?

It can be used for well water, however, we recommend doing a water test before installation. It allows you to determine the level of iron and manganese exceedances and check whether a single cartridge will be sufficient or whether a more extensive treatment system will be necessary. The cartridge works well with small to moderate exceedances.

9) Is assembly difficult?

Installation is simple for a person with basic plumbing experience (without it also possible :))

⚙ Operation and assembly manual – WODARO HBB10 (BIG BLUE / BB10)

1 Preparation before assembly

1.1. Checking the contents of the set

• 1 × filtration station WATER HBB10: 3 × BIG BLUE bodies on steel frame with connected heads
• 1 × key for unscrewing bodies
• 3 × centering discs (facilitate the correct arrangement of cartridges)
• 3 × WODARO filter cartridges:

  foam cartridge 20 µm BIG BLUE (mechanical)

  ironing cartridge BIG BLUE

  carbon cartridge BIG BLUE

• O-ring seals in heads/body – pre-mounted

1.2. Tools and materials (outside the set)

• Teflon tape or Teflon thread for sealing threads
• adjustable / flat wrench for connections
• Technical petroleum jelly (for O-rings)
• hydraulic connections matched to the threads of the set
• (optional) pegs/screws if mounting to the wall

1.3. Preparation of contributions

• Remove the cartridges from the packaging.
• Carbon cartridge and de-ironing cartridge should be soaked in clean water approx. 25 to 30 min to reduce airing and speed up rinsing.
• The foam (mechanical) cartridge does not need to be soaked, but it can be rinsed with water.

2 Selection and preparation of the assembly site

• Choose a place behind the main valve (usually behind the water meter, in the boiler room / garage / pump. technical).
• Provide convenient access to operation and replacement of cartridges.
• Leave min. 10 to 15 cm space under the bodies (for unscrewing) and above the set.
• Close the water supply and drop the pressure by unscrewing the nearest tap

3 Station mounting (frame) – setting / mounting

WATER HBB10 can be mounted in two ways (depending on the conditions):

• Putting of the set in a stable place (if the design and installation allow it)
• Attachment to the wall (recommended in most installations to make the kit immobilized)

If you are mounting to a wall:

1. Level the frame and mark the attachment points
2. drill holes and fix the set stably to the wall (choose studs to the ground)

4 Installation of water connections (IN / OUT)

• Check the markings on the head: IN (input) and OUT (output).
• Threads in the head: 1" GW
• Wrap the hydraulic connection with Teflon tape (several turns).
• Screw in the connections and tighten with the key “with sensitivity” (without wrestling).
• Connect the water system to the input and output.

Good practice: use shut-off valves before and after the filter – makes it easier to replace cartridges.

5 Installation of filter cartridges (with centering discs)

Recommended filtration order (input side IN):

1 mechanical – foam 20 µm

2 deferrous

3 carbon

Step by step:

1. Unscrew the body with a key.
2. Check if the O-ring is in place.
3. Apply a thin layer of technical petroleum jelly to the O-ring.
4. Insert the cartridge into the body and use the centering disc (1 disk per 1 body) – facilitates even placement of the cartridge.
5. Spin the body manually to the resistance, then tighten gently with a key (not “by force”).
6. Repeat for the other two corps.

6 Commissioning and leak test

1. Slowly open the water supply (e.g. 1/4 turn).
2. Observe connections and bodies for 2 to 3 minutes.
3. If there is a leak – gently tighten the body or connection.
4. When everything is tight, open the water supply completely.

7 Rinsing cartridges and putting them into service

• Open the faucet behind the filter and rinse the installation:

  active carbon: usually 5 – 15 min (until the water is clear)

• At the beginning, there may be a slight “coloration” from the coal – this is normal during the first rinse.
• Check the tightness again after a few minutes of operation.
• Save the installation date – it will make it easier to plan the replacement of cartridges.
