Shelly Flood Gen4 is a flood sensor that detects water exactly when it appears – under the dishwasher, washing machine, boiler or in the basement. With its wide-range detection cable, built-in sounder, and instant notifications, it helps you avoid costly damage, and its compatibility with platforms like Apple HomeKit, Google Home, and Home Assistant makes it easy to incorporate into your existing smart home system. In addition, battery power and IP44 protection class allow installation in places without access to an outlet and with increased humidity.

Flood Detection and Rain Detection Modes

The device offers two modes of operation, so you can easily adjust them to your specific application. Flood Detection is designed for critical places – as soon as the sensor detects water on the cable, it immediately triggers an alarm, which works well under the washing machine, dishwasher, boiler or in the basement. Rain Detection works more subtly: it records the increasing humidity level on the surface, but does not generate an alarm, which works, for example, on terraces or under roofs. In this mode, the device already responds to the first signs of precipitation, helping to protect equipment and outdoor equipment.

Precision detection cable for small and large spaces

The 2m flood detection cable provides a much greater range than a standard spot sensor. It allows monitoring of hard-to-reach places, and its linear design works particularly well with long sections of pipes, furniture or extensive utility rooms. If necessary, you can combine its subsequent sections, reaching a total length of up to 150 m, which allows you to secure large areas or several points at once.

Three alarm styles for different work scenarios

The Shelly Flood Gen4 has a built-in beacon that emits a long notification when flooding is detected and short signals at low battery levels. The sensor also features three alarm modes, which allow you to customize the way you notify leaks to your installation location. Intense provides fast and clear signaling, Normal works well in everyday use, while Economic reduces energy consumption, which is especially useful in cottages, garages or other rarely visited facilities.

Battery powered and freedom of installation

The device is powered by four 1,5 V AA batteries, which you will find in the set. It does not require any wiring and can be placed where there is no access to an outlet – for example, under kitchen buildings, in cabinets, by pipes or in utility rooms. In addition, the device has an IP44 rating, which means resistance to moisture and splashes. Thanks to this, the sensor will work not only in rooms, but also in semi-open places, such as terraces or spaces under the roof. Note: do not expose the device directly to rain – the main module should be covered, and the exposure applies only to the detection cable.

Local automation and collaboration with external devices

The Flood Gen4 sensor supports local operating scenarios, allowing, among other things, automatic shutdown of devices when water is detected. Integration with additional Shelly modules and equipment from other manufacturers allows you to create functional security solutions tailored to a given room or system.
