Osmotic membranes are an essential component of any reverse osmosis system. Made by m.in. from polyamide, membranes separate impurities contained in water from clean water.

The osmotic membrane is composed of many layers that are wound on the mandrel in the middle of the membrane. Water contaminated under pressure is forced onto the surface of the membrane. Water particles pass through microscopic pores on the surface of the filter layers. After separating the impurities, they go to the drain, and purified water passes through the stem holes to the central channel of the membrane and from there under pressure flows out.

Membranes retain up to 99%:

• organic and inorganic pollutants,
• heavy metals and other elements of size min. 0,0001 - 0,0008 μm.
