DEFCON5® is a company supplying the Italian Armed Forces and NATO. Many of the certified D5 products have NSN (NATO Stock Number), which proves uncompromising military quality and above-average practicality. The roots of the D5 brand are the Italian company FOX Group, founded in the city famous for its knife manufactures - Maniago. The name of the company is not accidental, it derives from the Defense Condition from the code system of the US Army and NATO. DEFCON5® stands for combat readiness with minimal codified threat levels, which gives users a sense of guaranteed security. D5 products are characterized by innovation and rigorous selection of materials. Before production, D5 articles are first tested in the laboratory and then by soldiers involved in various operational theatres for usability and reliability – Combat Approved. The company’s offer also includes the D.FIVE® brand, which specializes in outdoor and casual products for the civilian market.

Bivi Tent is a modern mink that is a hybrid of a tent and a bivi bag. The product has a NATO stock number: NSN: 8340-15-193-4874. Mink is a ready-made shelter from rain, wind and blizzard, which you can always have in your backpack. The mink deployment is quick and intuitive, it takes only approx. 2 minutes The lightweight design weighs only 1,35 kg and is much smaller than a traditional tent – compact. Mink provides increased thermal comfort, it is much warmer in it than in a tent or under a tarp. During warm nights, you do not even need a sleeping bag. Advanced technical materials were used to sew Bivi Tent, which provide water resistance and breathing at the level of 5K/5K. The developed ventilation system ensures comfort when it is hot. For full stability and comfort of use, a double arch frame with a thickness of 8,5 mm was used, creating a vault above the face and chest. The low profile makes it easy to mask in the field and protects against strong wind gusts. Mink D5 is willingly used by special units and seasoned survivalists, valued for its versatility and very good workmanship. DEFCON5 mink became the prototype for the well-known manufacturer and its Stratosphere model.

The mink has two entrances, thanks to which it gives much more possibilities. The entrance from the vault (head) allows you to observe the foreground, cook while resting and perform many lying down activities. The entrance from the head side also plays an important role during the evacuation from the shelter – it allows a very quick exit. Comfortable side entrance for approx. 3/4 length. The large side entrance allows you to easily unfold the mat and sleeping bag in the interior, and simpler washing and drying of the interior. The machine is protected by a full-length lock, and in sensitive places there is a double flap for protection from rain. The main mosquito net has a ventilation function, placed behind the head. The main mosquito net is covered with an external visor, which protects it from rain and wind. Under the canopy you can store shoes or cook in the stove. The canopy has the ability to roll for better ventilation and easier exit. The second, large mosquito net placed above the face allows you to get a "draft". The additional mosquito net has rubber bands for rolling, it can be used only when it is needed.

Bedroom made of technical fabric 75D from 3-layer laminate with 5K/5K membrane. Laminate in the middle layer has a membrane with water resistance of 5000 mm water column – full water resistance in the rain. The membrane is breathable, allows you to get rid of moisture from the inside of the mink, water vapour permeability at the level of 5000 g/m² (up to 7,5 liters of moisture / m²/24 hours). Strong outer material 100% Polyamide (nylon) is resistant to tearing and damage. The amide polymer exhibits high strength, reduced meltability and more difficult flammability than e.g. polyesters. All relevant outer seams taped with TPU tape for full tightness. The floor with raised threshold protects against wet soil, snow and reduces the effects of flooding and is resistant to dirt. Solid sewing, duplicated (multiple) in sensitive places. All zippers of the Japanese company YKK, known for their reliability and impeccable operation. Strong Velcro resistant to long-term use. Mosquito nets made of dense and solid nylon mesh, resistant to damage.

Mink has a number of features that increase the comfort of use, including two internal pockets above the head. The large tunnel pocket allows you to place drying clothes or a flashlight in it, the smaller zipper pocket is perfect for your phone, radio, or GPS. Facilities in the form of frames of the same length. Lightweight tubular frame, made of aviation aluminum covered with an anode layer. The rack segments are fold-out, the thick connecting rubber makes it easy to quickly connect the rack. Slippery tunnel interiors make it easy to thread masts through them. Entrances to the tunnels have been reinforced. Unfolding is limited to unrolling the mink and inserting masts. Optionally, you can use tent pins (not included) or improvised twig herrings. Mink has 6 loops of tent pin tape: 4 at the mast mounts, in the legs and at the visor.

The set is entirely housed in a compression cover made of membrane fabric, the same as the mink. The cover protects against getting wet inside the backpack from wet shelter. Under favorable conditions, the membrane allows the mink to dry also in transport. Three compression straps allow you to compress the package. The size of the cover has been selected so that you can push the mink into it without having to roll it up. The cover is equipped with a drawstring with a stopwatch for closing. Suitcase holder to carry in your hand. There is an option to use compression tapes to hang the cover on the equipment.
