Water filtration by AQUAPHOR Crystal H consists of 3 stages:

• stage 1 - K3 cartridge - pre-filtration cartridge filled with active coconut carbon and ion exchange Aqualen fibers. This filtration degree removes solid contaminants up to 5 microns from water supply pipes and building installations (rust, sand, sealing particles, etc. ), organic pollutants, heavy metals, active chlorine. The cartridge is impregnated with safe silver in an active ionic form to limit the growth of microorganisms inside the cartridge.
• stage 2 - cartridge KH - cartridge with ion exchange resin removing calcium and magnesium salts responsible for water hardness from the water. It effectively stops the appearance of scale and sediments caused by hard water.
• stage 3 - K7 cartridge - cartridge containing coconut activated carbon, ion exchange Aqualen fibers and silver in active ionic form. Effectively reduces chlorine, heavy metals (including lead, copper, mercury), organic and other contaminants causing taste, smell and color. Filters particles up to 0,8 microns. Used as the last stage of purification of water intended for consumption for optimal safety and taste of water.

NOTE. The service life of the KH cartridge depends on the hardness of the input water.

• for water hardness 100 - 150 mg CaCO3/l - the amount of softened water is 500 - 330 liters
• for water hardness 150 - 200 mg CaCO3/l - the amount of softened water is 330 - 250 liters
• for water hardness 200 - 250 mg CaCO3/l - the amount of softened water is 250 - 200 liters

If the hardness of the input water is greater than 250 mg CaCO3/l, it is recommended to use a filter with higher efficiency, e.g. Aquaphor OSMO-K or DWM.
