Construction and Material

M-TAC Paracord 550 Type III is a high-quality nylon cord consisting of an outer sheath and a core. The outer sheath is made of a large number of interwoven fibers, while the core consists of 7 interwoven nylon strands. This construction provides excellent strength while maintaining minimal weight.

History and Use

Paracord, also known as parachute cord, was originally developed for parachute suspensions used by paratroopers during World War II. Thanks to its versatile properties, it has found application both in the military and among civilians. Interestingly, paracord was even used by astronauts during the STS-82 mission as a universal cord for repairing the telescope.
